계산과학교과는 수치해석적 방법과 컴퓨터과학적인 방법을 이용하여 복잡한 공학문제를 이해하고 해결하는 방법을 습득한다. 기존의 과학 및 공학 분야에서 사용되는 다양한 방법론을 수리적으로 접근하고 컴퓨터를 이용하여 수학적 모델의 의미를 해석 및 이해할 수 있다.

Computational Science involves acquiring the ability to understand and solve complex engineering problems using numerical and computer science methods. It encompasses approaching various methodologies used in existing scientific and engineering fields numerically, and interpreting and understanding the meaning of mathematical models using computers.
