Clubs

Universities not only focus on academic research and character training but also enrich campus life with student clubs that cater to individual hobbies and aptitudes. Students have the opportunity to select clubs that resonate with their interests, allowing them to explore fields beyond their majors and experience new worlds, thereby making university life more fulfilling.

Performances Tornado As dance enthusiasts, we practice together and host performances, which not only improve our dance skills but also help to build friendships across various departments, all while enjoying this healthy hobby. We enhance our dancing skills through regular practice and participation in festivals and other university events. Additionally, by uploading dance videos such as cover performances to YouTube, we help promote both Sangmyung University and our club. Performances Mingling Heung (Fun) Our club's purpose is to unite students from various majors through the common thread of 'Pungmul' (Korean traditional percussion music). Together, we sweat, laugh, cry, and find a strong sense of unity. This experience not only fosters personal growth but also aids in discovering our individual identities. Practice for performances is the main activity. We organize our practice schedule into two types of days: individual practice days dedicated to specific instruments (Janggu, Buk, Sogo, Ggakgari), and regular group practice days when everyone gathers together. Additionally, we perform at school festivals, participate in training sessions in Gochang, Jeollanam-do, and interact with various other schools. Performances Sound Village Embracing the ideology of ‘Promoting University Culture,’our aim is to strengthen mutual bonds among Sangmyungians and enrich the university's cultural fabric through music. In doing so, we also seek to elevate our collective musical knowledge. We engage in performances at festivals and various on-campus events, aiming to cultivate and refine our musical skills. Additionally, we foster connections with other schools through collaborations with various university bands. Performances Enol We strive to research K-Pop, a genre that has captivated fans globally, to understand the relevant factors in its global success. Our goal is to showcase the excellence of K-Pop to the world, with the active participation of Sangmyung students who share this pride. We obtain and analyze various academic papers related to K-Pop, conduct regular performances twice a year, and participate in various external music performances to gain rich experience. Performances Humming This club is composed of Sangmyung University students and graduates who are interested in a cappella singing and share its purpose. Our goal is to foster camaraderie among fellow students through music. We participate in various on-campus events such as orientation and festival performances, as well as external events. Additionally, we host regular solo performances by Humming. To promote and teach a cappella singing, we participate in activities such as workshops, attend performances, collaborate on events with similar organizations, and maintain regular communication. 허밍 홈페이지
Social Service IEMU11 To realize the motto of "Soccer, more than just a game," we plan and execute not only soccer-related activities but also volunteer work. IEMU11 aims to contribute added value to society in various ways through our diverse activities. We have signed an MOU with Hong-Eun Social Welfare Center near Sangmyung University, and conducted regular volunteer activities. These activities include conducting remote smartphone education for the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has had a positive impact on the local community near Sangmyung University. Besides our regular volunteer work, we also organize discussion sessions, promote and participate in Kakao's 'Together X Value' initiative, join youth group meetings, and engage in coal briquette-related volunteer work. All of these efforts are aimed at ensuring that 'Soccer, more than just a game,' plays a role in contributing to societal restoration. IEMU11 홈페이지
Social Service Good Neighbors Gaonuuri We conduct activities in collaboration with Good Neighbors Central Seoul Branch, with a particular focus on the themes of children and welfare. Our aim is to create a city that is safe and comfortable for children to live in, while empowering them to protect their rights and safety. We also enhance people’s awareness of children's rights. We have organized our organization into teams, including the elementary puppetry team, media promotion team, children's rights monitoring team, and campaign team. Through these teams, we conduct activities such as putting on sexual violence prevention-themed puppet shows, creating children's rights newsletters, providing mentoring on children's rights, and organizing campaigns. Society Sangyanghang We aim to have various students from different majors come together and increase awareness of animal rights and ecological sensitivity. In addition, we also aim to help various agents of Sangmyung University's ecosystem, including cats on campus, to coexist peacefully with school members, nearby merchants, and residents. Our main activities include caring for the cats (referred to as 'Sangyangi') on campus, distributing food to them daily, implementing the Sangyangi Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program, treating injured Sangyangi, rescuing those harmed in accidents, and facilitating their release. We also promote temporary sheltering and adoption, and organize events and create newsletters to raise awareness about animal rights. 상냥행 홈페이지
Society Sangmyung Peer Counselling This is a student club for those interested in psychological counseling. Through self-study and training with supervising professors, we acquire basic knowledge of counseling and aim to find solutions to the concerns of club members and others through careful listening. Peer counselors are well-suited to assist university students because it aligns with their tendency to frequently discuss their concerns and conflicts with peers. Participation in Sangmyung Peer Counselling club activities is expected to bring several benefits, including self-realization, enhanced communication skills, positive interpersonal relationships, and an adaptive attitude towards school life. Religion CCC (Korea Campus Crusade of Christ) CCC is the largest Christian association club in the country with a vision of 'Movements Everywhere,' aiming to preach the word of Christ to people, teach them about faith, and send them to achieve the Great Commission by making spiritual movements happen everywhere. We join regular campus student chapel services and hold student-led Bible studies, along with one-on-one mentoring, aiming to educate and instill values based on truth. Through events such as MT (Membership Training) and various training workshops, we provide opportunities for members to meet and bond with diverse individuals. Religion Korea Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVF) Under the slogan "On Campus and in the World, God's Kingdom," we aim to foster personal faith in Christ, develop Christ-like values, and bear witness to being Christians in all areas of life, particularly working towards the evangelization of intellectual society. Sports BUCKS We aim to enjoy a variety of baseball-related activities, promoting camaraderie among fellow students and focusing on both physical and mental training. Sports Winner We aim to help students enhance their enjoyment of basketball through continuous training in the fundamentals of the sport. We engage in exchange games and competitions to allow members to acquire a diverse range of experiences. In the club, individuals with similar interests can build relationships and strengthen camaraderie. We offer basic basketball training to develop fundamental skills and conduct tactical sessions to prepare for competitions. Building on this training, we engage in exchange games and competitions with clubs from other universities.  
Sports Jaharang Through kendo training, our goal is to cultivate healthy minds and bodies, thereby contributing positively to our nation and society. Our key activities are mental and physical training through kendo practice, participation in the Spring and Fall Seoul University Kendo Federation Tournaments and the Seodaemun-gu Mayor's Cup Kendo Competition, and fostering camaraderie among members.  
Hobby Jaha Photo We aim to bring together students interested in cameras and photography, fostering a community in which they can create photographic art, share their hobbies, and enrich their university lives. Our activities include taking and developing photographs, holding photo seminars, and appreciating photos, all of which contribute to a rewarding university experience. Our main activities include monthly regular photography outings in which members are divided into groups to take photos at predetermined locations and times. We also have 'flash' photography outings, organized quickly for those who are interested. Annually, we hold regular exhibitions through gallery rentals. There are also mini-exhibitions at which students can easily appreciate photographic art as they pass by. Hobby Maenggami Our goal is to go beyond merely discussing and enjoying our favorite content with others; we aim to create our own original works. 1. Regular monthly assignments. At the end of each month, our members create their own works based on a theme decided through meetings and voting. Academic Inino As software becomes increasingly important and garners more interest, the number of students majoring in fields unrelated to software yet eager to learn programming is growing. Therefore, at Inino, we are committed to welcoming all students interested in programming. We aim to foster a rich learning environment in which they can delve into their areas of interest. This will be achieved through a range of activities including mentoring, study groups, collaborative projects, expos, and company visits, all designed to nurture a more inclusive and integrated approach to software engineering. The major activities at our organization include mentoring and seminars, where senior and junior members form teams to engage in academic studies. Additionally, members with similar interests form groups for collaborative projects and studies. Academic EDUPLET As a content production club, EDUPLET operates on the foundation of seven core values: Entertainment, Diversity, Uniqueness, Professionalism, Leadership, Enthusiasm, and the concept of a Turning Point. We aim to create an environment in which students from various majors can happily engage in content creation. Our members upload a diverse range of content, including web dramas, talk shows, vlogs, and more, to various social media platforms, without being confined to any specific genre. Currently, we are primarily focused on content targeting students at Sangmyung University. Our efforts are focused on creating introductory videos about learning experiences at the university and its various schools. Academic Change Change is dedicated to offering a platform for university students who are passionate about making a difference but who often encounter obstacles. Our focus is on fostering 'mind-making' for tangible change. With this mindset, we provide opportunities for growth by enabling students to tackle various challenges, engage in exchanges, and foster unity. In the 'Challenge' category, we encourage students to conduct activities that are important but may be daunting in daily life, such as getting up, reading, and exercising. In the 'Exchange' category, activities include exercise and reading challenges. Through these regular meetings, we share our thoughts and experiences with each other. Academic HRC Our activities are aimed at learning the basics of robotics and participating in various robotics competitions, which helps members gain experience and engage in activities related to the field. Our activities involve participation in the international robotics competition FIRA and domestic robotics competitions (Bucheon Fantasia, Capstone, and Pohang Military Robotics Competition).  
Academic Encoma We aim to learn the expressive and technical skills necessary to produce animation, emphasizing the importance of creating joy through the process of animation production. "Our activities encompass studying animation production techniques from the United States and Japan, introducing outstanding international animation works, and actively engaging in short animation production to inspire students' passion for animation creation. Additionally, we undertake industry-academia projects to enhance professional skills in animation.  
Academic Like the Dandelion of Sangmyung University Our club focuses on web service development, providing learning opportunities for members to launch and implement their own ideas as IT services. Our club is divided into three departments: planning/design, frontend, and backend. In these departments, our members learn about the startup process, gaining specific skills in their respective areas. Performances Baltic This student club is comprised of three sections—vocals, guitar, and managers—and aims to promote acoustic music while creating a positive impact. The club is dedicated to acoustic ballad music and plans and conducts various activities, including regular music appreciation meetings, performances, studio recordings, busking, and performances at academic festivals.
